KNIFE SHARPENING

Servicing the Latrobe Valley area.

We offer a range of sharpening and modification services for all knives.

You can post your knives to us or if you are local and have multiple knives to be sharpened we offer a pick up and drop off service.(see services/price list page for details)

 

Our sharpening techniques use hand sharpening on water stones and water stones in a hand controled jig.

So we get perfectly set angles, but control how much of the bevel is ground by hand. So no overheating of the blade or nasty slips.

We can set your knife to factory angles, do a custom bevel to your requirements and give your knife a finished edge from shaving sharp and toothy, to hair whittling sharp with a mirror finish you can literally see your eye in it.   

All the sharpening is carried out by hand to give a consistent and precise edge

 

All work is carried out by an experienced knife sharpener, and ex chef who has used knives for a living and that also makes custom knives.

 

We do not use power sharpeners, grinders and pull through sharpeners to sharpen your knives.Grinders may be used for certain jobs like changing the profile of a blade quickly, but they can get the knife edge very hot and destroy the metal structure. All of these techniques will take lots of metal off of your blade, shortening the life of you knife.

Pull through sharpeners should be thrown in the bin! They kill knife edges striping metal off and chipping the blade.

 

 

We have a passion for knives and take pride in bringing a dull damaged blade back to life.  

 

We will ask you what sort of edge you want on you knife and how you want it to perform.
